Knox County Grand Jury indictments: Assault, robbery, drug trafficking

    ROCKLAND — The Knox County Grand Jury met Nov. 13-14 and handed down 92 counts against 36 defendants. An indictment does not imply guilt.

    Brian Keith Bolyard, 22, Maine State Prison, Warren, robbery and aggravated assault against another prisoner in Warren Dec. 5, 2017.

    Michael Canfield, 22, of Warren, gross sexual assault in Warren April 6; unlawful sexual contact in Warren April 6.

    Devin Michael Charest, 28, Maine State Prison, Warren, robbery and aggravated assault against another prisoner in Warren Dec. 5, 2017.

    Clancy M. Collins, 26, of South Thomaston, unlawful trafficking in cocaine base in Thomaston April 4.

    Jerome J. Cushing, 38, of Warren, gross sexual assault in Warren June 9; domestic violence assault (two counts) in Warren June 9 and July 8.

    According to the affidavit filed in Knox County Unified Court by Sgt. John Palmer, the victim told police that Cushing has allegedly assaulted her on numerous occasions.

    The victim said that Cushing sexually assaulted her in June because she had not returned his phone calls and text messages.

    She also reported another recent assault, causing bruising on her arm.

    Cushing denied the assault allegations and claimed that the woman’s bruising was caused when she helped him work underneath his car.

    The victim told police that Cushing had threatened her if she ever obtained a protection order against him.

    Cushing declined to take a polygraph examination, according to the affidavit.

Dana, 22, of Owls Head, theft by unauthorized taking and burglary of a motor vehicle in Rockland Oct. 4; unauthorized use of property in Rockland Oct. 5; unauthorized use of property and aggravated criminal mischief in Rockland March 5; unauthorized use of property, burglary of a motor vehicle (two counts), leaving the scene of an accident involving an unattended vehicle, failure to report accident, violation of condition of release, criminal trespass, all in Thomaston Oct. 11.

    Robert O. Dion, 35, of Topsham, violation of condition of release (two counts) in Rockport Aug. 22.

    Dean S. Dyer, 41, of Appleton, operating after revocation in Union Sept. 19; violating condition of release in Union Sept. 29; operating after revocation in Hope April 12.

    Shayne J. Elwell, 31, of Rockland, felony domestic violence assault in Rockland July 27; unlawful possession of Focalin in Rockland July 27.

    Carrie Emerson, 40, of Friendship, trafficking in prison contraband (suboxone) in Rockland June 11.

    Kaitlynn M. Everett, 23, of Rockland, unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs (heroin and fentanyl) in Rockland Sept. 24; violation of condition of release in Rockland Sept. 24.

    Stephen B. Grant, 39, of West Rockport, receiving stolen property (a trailer valued at more than $1,000) in Warren June 6.

    Olivia Howe, 24, of Rockland, conspiracy to commit unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs (not specified in the indictment) in Knox County Jan. 1 and Feb. 22.

    Duane Adam Johnson, 44, of Warren, domestic violence assault in Warren July 29; obstructing report of crime or injury in Warren July 29; violation of condition of release and violation of protective order in Warren Oct. 17.

    Stephen C. Libby, 50, of Warren, three counts of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs (fentanyl) in Warren Feb. 28 and March 1; possession of a firearm by a prohibited person in Warren March 1; criminal forfeiture of $940 in Warren March 2; tampering with a witness or informant and violation of condition of release in Warren March 2.

    Brandon M. Luzzi, 61, of Rockland, terrorizing in Rockland May 19. Luzzi allegedly made a threat to commit a school shooting at Regional School Unit 13.

    James E. Makie, 53, of Warren, unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs (cocaine) in Cushing April 3.

    Jonathan D. Marr, 35, of South Thomaston, unlawful trafficking in Percocet in Thomaston June 21.
