KNOX — Tuesday, June 13, from 5 to 6 p.m., the Knox County Food Council will host a virtual presentation about MaineHealth’s Community Health Implementation Plan and its initiatives at Pen Bay Medical Center (PBMC) in Rockport and Waldo County General Hospital (WCGH) in Belfast to improve the health of Midcoast residents by making nutritious food more accessible.

MaineHealth’s Program Manager Specialist in Community Health, Deidre Dority, and Director of Community Health Improvement for PBMC and WCGH, Jemma Penberthy, will share reports on the pounds of food distributed and number of households served. They will also highlight the collaborations supporting this food security work, including Good Shepherd Food Bank’s Mainers Feeding Mainers program and partnerships forged with AIO Food & Energy Assistance in Rockland and the Belfast Soup Kitchen to offer shelf-stable food year-round.

The presentation will be followed by a Q&A with the presenters and an open discussion. All are welcome to attend and may receive the Zoom meeting information by registering online at aldermere.org/kcfc-registration or emailing aldermere@mcht.org
