Knox County EMA, Salvation Army to hold free food distribution in Rockland

Knox County Emergency Management Agency and the Salvation Army are co-hosting a free food distribution in Rockland with food from the Maine Farmers Exchange. The event will be Friday, July 24, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., in the Oceanside High School parking lot. 

The procedure will be done in a drive-thru style.

“Anyone can come get food regardless of where they live or their income,” said Knox EMA, in a news release. “No questions asked, no signing up, and nothing to fill out!"

FREE for ALL – Each Box Contains: 

▪ 5lb bag whole potatoes 

▪ 6lb bag refrigerated mashed potatoes 

▪ 2.5lb block cheddar cheese 

▪ 1/2 gallon 2% milk 

first come first served while supplies last 

Drive-through distribution 

➢ Stay in your vehicle, follow the signs, drive through the 

pickup line, and a volunteer (with a mask & gloves on) will put the box in your trunk or backseat 

EVERYONE IS WELCOME. There are no prerequisites, no sign ups required, and no paperwork to fill out for participation in this event.
