The public invited Saturday, May 26, to the Strom Auditorium at Camden Hills Regional High School, on West Street, in Rockport, when the seven Democratic candidates for governor will face a panel of students who will question them on issues important to youth.
The forum will be held from 1 to 3 p.m., with doors opening at 12:15 p.m.

The national organization, Rock the Vote, has identified the Maine Governor’s race as one of 10 races nationwide this November which could be decided by the youth vote. Students from all four schools have participated in the planning of the event and will be posing the questions. Two student moderators, Aidan Andrews, from Oceanside, and Eileen Monroy, from Medomak, will moderate. Students will also be on hand to register voters who will be 18 by November 6, assisted by members of the League of Women Voters, who are collaborating on this event.
The Tune Squad, voted “Best Bus Band of 2018” at the recent Trekkapalooza battle of the bands, will play as people arrive. The event will also feature a short video by Yara Shahidi about the importance of the mid-term elections, and an opportunity to meet and greet local Democratic candidates in the café with free refreshments after the forum.
