Knox County Criminal Docket, closed cases

    ROCKLAND — The following cases were closed in Knox County Unified Court from Nov. 5-15.

    Mark Ames, 55, of Matinicus, assault, $300 fine, four days in jail; domestic violence assault, dismissed; criminal trespass, four days in jail. The incidents occurred in Matinicus June 16, 2017. 

    Milan Babik, 39, of Appleton, violating protection from abuse order, dismissed.

    Jason Robert Ball, 42, of Montville, operating under the influence, one prior, in Camden June 9, $700 fine, 270 days in jail with all but 14 days suspended, probation one year, license suspended three years.

    Kevin Brown, 35, of Rockport, operating after habitual offender revocation, $500 fine, 90 days in jail; operating under the influence (alcohol)-no test, one prior, $700 fine, 90 days in jail, license suspended three years, registration suspended. Both incidents occurred in Rockland Oct. 5.

    Stephen R. Cross Jr., 29, of Rockland, domestic violence assault, two counts, dismissed; unlawful possession of scheduled drug in Rockland Sept. 22, $400 fine, 364 days in jail with all but 30 days suspended, probation one year; violating condition of release in Rockland Sept. 28, 30 days in jail; unlawful possession of scheduled drug.

    Jeffrey T. Delaney, 42, of Tenants Harbor, operating under the influence (alcohol), dismissed; criminal mischief, dismissed; driving to endanger in St. George July 28, 2017, $575 fine, 10 days in jail, license suspended 30 days.

    Kurt D. Duguay, 29, of Waldoboro, failing to attach deer tag to deer in Rockport Sept. 10, $100 fine.

    Michael A. Estes, 27, of St. George, violating condition of release, dismissed.

    Jack W. Freeman, 19, of Owls Head, operating after registration suspended, dismissed.

    Jessica A. Hans, 36, of Augusta, probation violation assault for original conviction of domestic violence assault in Rockland April 6, 2017, 10 months in jail, probation partially revoked.

    James E. Kennedy, 32, of Rockland, probation violation for original conviction of domestic violence assault in Rockland Sept. 18, 2017, probation partially revoked, probation continued.

    Shawn R. Leclerc, 33, of Rockland, operating under the influence (alcohol)-injury or death, priors, $2100 fine, six months in jail, license suspended 10 years; theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, 90 days in jail; failing to make oral or written accident report, 90 days in jail; operating vehicle without license-condtions/restrictions. All incidents occurred in Thomaston April 25, 2016; violating condition of release, dismissed; operating while license suspended or revoked, dismissed.

    Tylor Miller, 23, of Somerville, violating protection from abuse order in Warren Oct. 6, 30 days in jail.

    Jonathan G. Paul, 36, of Waldoboro, operating while license suspended or revoked-OUI, $600 fine, seven days in jail, license suspended one year; violating conditions of release, seven days in jail. Both incidents occurred in Warren Oct. 20, 2017; OUI (drugs or combination), dismissed; driving to endanger in Rockland June 24, 2017, $575 fine, license suspended 30 days.

    Heath W. Prior, 34, of Cushing, theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, priors, two years in jail with all but 90 days suspended, probation two years; unlawful possession of scheduled drug, two counts, $400 fine, 90 days in jail; refusing to submit to arrest or detention, refusing to stop, 90 days in jail, all in Union Sept. 24; unlawful possession of scheduled drug, dismissed; refusing to submit to arrest or detention, physical force, dismissed.

    Jacquelin Smollett, 35, of Owls Head, operating under the influence (alcohol)-no test, one prior, in Thomaston Oct. 19, 2017, six months in jail, probation partially revoked; theft by unauthorized use of property, 90 days in jail, restitution $195; operating vehicle without license, 90 days in jail; operating under the influence (alcohol), two priors, $1100 fine, 36 months in jail with all but 90 days suspended, probation two years, license suspended six years, registration suspended, restitution $195; operating while license suspended or revoked-OUI, $600 fine, 90 days in jail, license suspended one year. All incidents occurred in St. George Sept. 26.

    Daniel W. Spooner, 32, of Westbrook, domestic violence assault, dismissed; criminal mischief, 10 days in jail; unlawful possession of scheduled drug, $400 fine, 180 days in jail with all but 10 days suspended, probation one year; disorderly conduct, offensive words, gestures, unconditional discharge.                                                            

    Spooner was arrested by Camden Police during the early morning of Oct. 7 for assaulting a woman and damaging a hotel room in Camden.

    Spooner made his initial appearance before Judge Susan Sparaco in Knox County Unified Court Oct. 8. His bail was set at $2,500 cash.

    According to the affidavit filed in court by police, they first were notified after Spooner was making threats against people at a wedding in Camden the evening before his arrest. Guests reported Spooner was intoxicated and that he said “bullets were going to fly,” according to the affidavit.

    Spooner agreed to return to his hotel room after the wedding. When the victim returned to the room to pack her belongings, he threw water on her, pushed her on a couch, knocked over a table, broke a lamp and put a hole in the wall. He also struck the woman in the head with an open hand and threatened her and her family, according to the affidavit.

    Camden police arrested Spooner and transported him to the Knox County Jail where corrections officers found a rolled dollar bill with white powder in his wallet, the report said. A suboxone wrapper was also identified.

    Rockport police also assisted at the scene when Spooner was arrested Oct. 7 in Camden.

    David Wellman, 47, of Hope, violating condition of release in Camden Aug. 13, 48 hours in jail; unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs, dismissed.

    Jerrod W. Wentworth, 34, of Vinalhaven, burglary, dismissed; theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, $1000 fine, restitution $60; criminal trespass, $1000 fine. Both incidents occurred in Vinalhaven March 1.

    Julie R. Wile, 41, of Thomaston, failure to appear for disclosure of contempt hearing in Rockland July 17, unconditional discharge.

    Wesley S. Williams, 28, of Rockland, assault on an officer, three counts, in Rockland May 26, 2017, 90 days in jail.
