    Rockland’s Inaugural Poet Laureate and playwright Kendall Merriam released a book for 12-year-olds and all cat lovers.

    It takes place in a university town for cats to learn the ways of fishing.

    Cats come from all over the world to learn the trade.

    The town has both dorms and hotels, and the action takes place in the Hotel Merrymount.

    There is a love story, cat religion and a Christmas Day mystery involving a princess that is solved by a Russian cat who may, or may not, be a juvenile delinquent.

    The book’s cover is by Patsy Sharky, the introduction by Livka Farrel, author photo by Eve Hupper, printing bu Huston Tuttle and Maine Authors Publishing, and biographies of the author’s 20 pet cats over the last 50 years.

    The price is $10, plus $2 shipping.
