BELFAST — The Juke Joint Devils, will liven up midwinter with an evening of dancing Saturday, March 28, at The Bazz (Basil Burwell Theater) 17 Court Street, Belfast.
Doors open at 6 p.m. with chili and sweets available for purchase from Come Boating!
Break out the dance shoes at 6:15 p.m. for a swing dance primer with Katie Tranzillo for a mere $5. From 7 p.m. - 10 p.m., the dance will be rockin’ to the Juke Joint Devils.
Juke Joint Devils are an old school Jump and Swing blues band whose musical style draws heavily from Chicago, Memphis and New Orleans blues music of the 1950s, as well as the modern West Coast style of today.
Recently performing at the Maine Blues Festival, the North Atlantic Blues Festival and the Old Orchard Beach Blues Fest, as well as the Make A Wish Foundation fundraiser, the band stays sharp performing at venues from Rangeley to Portland, and places in between.
Together for the past dozen years, the band includes founding member, Tommy O’Connell on blues harp and vocals, and blues music stalwarts, Andy Buckland on upright bass, Mark S. Horn on drums and Steve Lynnworth on guitar.
The dance will be $7 students/ $12 adults.
Bring separate dry dancing shoes.
