MANCHESTER — Three local golfers competed in the Charlie’s Maine Golf Open at the Augusta Country Club in Manchester.  

Jon Hardy of West Rockport, Ricky Jones of Thomaston and Nick Mazurek of Rockland participated in the two-round tournament held Aug. 20-21. 

The championship consisted of two rounds, each being 18 holes. There was a cut after 18 holes for amateurs only, with players shooting 79 or better advancing to the second round. There was no cut for professionals.

Jones finished the opening round tied for 30th and one-over-par with a score of 71. He finished the second round with a score of 69. Overall, he finished tied for 23rd place with a score of 140 and even par. 

Hardy concluded the opening round tied for 87th and nine-over-par with a score of 79. He finished the second round with a score of 78. Overall, he finished tied for 90th place with a score of 157 and 17-over-par. 

Mazurek ended the opening round tied for 96th and 12-over-par with a score of 82. He did not qualify for the second round of the tournament.
