The Rockland Rotary Club honored John Ferraiolo as its 2026 Community Person of the Year during the club's annual Change of Command Banquet, held at the Rockland Elks Lodge. The Community Person of the Year Award recognizes an individual whose dedication to the community exemplifies Rotary's motto, "Service Above Self."

Ferraiolo is a leader in the family-owned Ferraiolo Construction Co., Inc., a company that has proudly served Midcoast Maine since the late 1960s, according to the Rockland Rotary, in a news release.

"Throughout his career, he has served as the company's president, secretary, treasurer, and primary business contact, helping to build a strong reputation for quality and community commitment," said the Rotary.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ferraiolo has dedicated countless volunteer hours to improving the Midcoast community. He serves as a director of the Maine Lobster Festival, the annual five-day, volunteer-run nonprofit event that celebrates Maine's lobster industry through food, entertainment, and family activities. For many years, Ferraiolo has overseen operations in the festival's food tent, generously contributing his time and leadership to one of the region's most beloved traditions.

"John has also been an invaluable supporter of the Rockland Rotary Club. During the construction of the club's All-Inclusive Playground and pavilion at MacDougal Park, he donated significant in-kind services, including his time, equipment, and concrete work, helping make the project a reality for families throughout the community," said the Rotary.
