APPLETON — Jessica Christina Strout, 35, formerly of Waldoboro, died unexpectedly on May 26, in Union.

She was born March 25, 1984 in Rockport the daughter of Belinda Long Fletcher.

Jessica grew up in Waldoboro and attended local schools. She graduated from Medomak Valley High School in the class of 2002. She was an outstanding athlete all of her school years, and loved her teammates like sisters.

She was a hard worker beginning at the age of fifteen when she worked at the Samoset Restaurant in New Harbor and the Anchor Inn in Round Pond.

Jessica was a loving, caring, funny, vibrant, good natured, warm, giving, and would always put others’ needs first. She was loved by all.

She attended Husson College in Bangor and then began a career in nursing. Nursing was a job that well suited Jessica because of her loving and caring nature. She was able to take care of both the old and frail and the mentally and physically challenged. She lastly worked for the Homestead in Cushing and Owls Head.

Jessica married Sam Strout, the love of her life. Sam passed away too soon at the age of 32.

She was predeceased by her husband, father-in-law John Strout, step-father Ron Fletcher, grandparents Ken and Wini Long and brother-in-law Jake Strout.

Jessica leaves behind her mother, Belinda Fletcher of New Harbor; brother, Shayne Reichard and wife Stephanie of Nobleboro; sister, Andrea Curtis and husband Jeremy of Waldoboro; nephews, Zac and Kyle Curtis of Waldoboro, Brayden and Bentley of Nobleboro; niece, Brooklyn of Nobleboro; mother-in-law Paulette Strout of Rockland; and Jessica’s boyfriend, Jason Jones and his son Carter Jones of Appleton; as well as many cousins, aunts and uncles.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 9, at 2 p.m., at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main Street, in Waldoboro.
