Jan. 3 Busline League basketball results

The Busline League continued regular season play for middle school basketball on Thursday, Jan. 3 across the Midcoast and several local schools were in action. 

Below are the scores and statistics from those games as reported to our sports department. 

8th Grade Boys Basketball: Medomak 77, Great Salt Bay 40

Medomak held quarterly advantages of 20-15, 38-24 and 55-32. 

Scoring for Medomak were Kevin Sincyr (four points), Tucker Holgerson (four), Hayden Staples (six), Gaitlin Bedenik (two), Noah Lawrence (two), Blake Morrison (16), Will Cheeseman (eight), Wyatt Simmons (two), Isaac Simmons (six), Finn Parmalee (eight), Jaiden Starr (six), Matthew Holbrook (11) and Devon Secotte (two). 

Scoring for Great Salt Bay were Carson Hallowell (five points), Lucas Houghton (eight), Gabe Hagar (nine) and Jack Duncan (20). 
 
7th Grade Girls Basketball: Medomak 40, Great Salt Bay 6
 
Medomak held quarterly advantages of 13-0, 25-0 and 36-2. 

Scoring for Medomak were Kyllie Blake (two points), Kaylee Kurr (four), Eliza Luce (nine), Sara Nelson (13), Eilee Stelzer (four), Haley Puchalski (two) and Melissa Fogg (six). 

Scoring for Great Salt Bay was Bella Bodmer (six points). 

“Great defense was played by Melissa Fogg, Ryleigh Rainey, Samantha Christensen, Kyllie Blake and Eilee Stelzer,” said Medomak coach Andrea Williamson. 

7th Grade Boys Basketball: Medomak 44, Great Salt Bay 16

Medomak held quarterly advantages of 21-1, 29-1 and 31-9. 

Scoring for Medomak were Kory Donlin (10 points), Aaron Reed (eight), Conner Benner (four), Kolby Staples (four), Zan Nguyen (four), Finian Kelly (four), Slavick Moody (two), Isiah Orner (two), Landon Tapley (two), Nelson Weeks (two) and Sam Moody (two). 

Scoring for Great Salt Bay were Tyson Ball (seven points), Gabe Hanley (five), Kellen Adickes (two) and Conner Parson (two). 

8th Grade Boys Basketball: Oceanside 48, Troy Howard 40

Troy Howard held a 14-8 advantage after the first quarter, while Oceanside held leads of 18-17 and 35-32 after the second and third quarters, respectively. 

Scoring for Oceanside were Hayden Jacques (15 points), Alex Bartlett (13), Alex Collins (seven), Noah Burns (four), Jason Leclerc (one), Logan Brazier (four), Ian Erskine (two) and Andrew Gehouskey (two). 

Scoring for Troy Howard were L. McConnell (19 points), P. McConnell (eight), Slaughter (four), Payson (four), Chase (one) and Balicki (four). 

8th Grade Girls Basketball: Oceanside 57, Troy Howard 14

Oceanside held quarterly advantages of 14-2, 28-8 and 36-11. 

Scoring for Oceanside were A. Hersey (two points), B. Stasulis (four), A. Knowlton (two), S. Hansen (four), A. Makie (26), G. van Bushirk (three), E. Sykes (six) and R. Wellman (10). 

Scoring for Troy Howard were Faulkingham (three points), Batty (two), Goodwind (four), Hamlin (two), Hashey (one) and Collins (two). 

8th Grade Girls Basketball: Medomak 45, Great Salt Bay 41

Scoring for Medomak were Quinn (11 points), Madi (15), Addison (13), Chelsea (four) and Emily (two). 

Scoring for Great Salt Bay were Maya (17 points), Baylie (two), Marley (two), Annie (nine) and Katherine (11).
