The Busline League enjoyed quarterfinal play for middle school basketball on Tuesday, Jan. 22 across the Midcoast and several local schools were in action. 

Below are the scores and statistics from those games as reported to our sports department. 

8th Grade Girls Basketball: Medomak 39, Boothbay 36

In the quarterfinal round of the Busline playoffs, third-seeded Medomak hosted sixth-seeded Boothbay. 

Medomak held a 20-12 advantage at the halftime pause. 

Scoring for Medomak were Quinn (four points), Madi (six), Addison (13), Chelsea (nine), Emily (three) and Cindy (four). 

Scoring for Boothbay were E. Lorrain (two points), A. Beaten (two points), M. Gentry (12), J. Chanmness (four), K. Hibbard (14) and D. Main (two). 

“Trishelle, and Rachel played some great defense and stayed plugged in to the game and played some important minutes for us,” said Medomak coach Celia Philbrick. 

With the win, Medomak will travel to second-seeded Camden-Rockport on Thursday, Jan. 24 at 3:45 p.m. for a semifinal showdown.
