James H. Lenfest Jr., obituary

SWANVILLE — James “Jimmy” H. Lenfest Jr., 75, of Swanville, died on March 21, 2019 at Waldo County General Hospital. 

He was born on April 17, 1943 in Swanville the son of James and Bernice Lenfest Sr. 

Jimmy attended Crosby High School and later joined the United States Army serving in Vietnam. He drove trucks locally as well as logging before starting his career as a mechanic.

Jimmy served people all over the state with his automotive business until becoming ill. He had a passion for working on cars, even small model’s, and loved animals.

He is predeceased by his parents; son Jamie Lenfest; and brother Eldon Lenfest.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Kathy (Hutchinson) Lenfest of Swanville; children, Jason Lenfest of Swanville, Melissa Villeneuve and partner Rudy Vincent of Michigan, Deanna Lenfest of Belfast, Corey Hutchinson and partner Heather Alberts of Brooks, Larry Salls and girlfriend Anne McKinney of Prospect; siblings Carolyn Smart and husband Earl, Darlene Perkins and husband Jon all of Lamoine, Patricia Howie of Belmont and Beatrice Maxwell of Florida; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; logging friend Andy Hurd and longtime friend and pastor Herbie Littlefield and wife Elaine.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, March 26, from 4 to 6 p.m., at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave. Belfast. A a funeral service will follow, Wednesday March 27, at 11 a.m., at the funeral home.

Interment will be held in the spring at Smart Cemetery.
