It’s here, the 24th U.S. National Toboggan Championships are off to a great start
CAMDEN — It’s been a great first day of fun at the Camden Snow Bowl, as the 24th annual U.S. National Toboggan Championships kicked off with plenty of action in the chute.
The wooden toboggan chute has been open all day, providing opportunities for the public to ride town toboggans out onto Hosmer Pond and racers the chance the practice and even take some optional first runs.
Many of the 420 teams have registered, picked up their team bibs and had their toboggans inspected, and it all starts again at 7 a.m. Saturday. Racing begins for two-person and three-person teams at 8 a.m.
The shuttle buses begin running from downtown at 7 a.m. and continue through until 5 p.m. The cost for the shuttle bus is $2, round-trip.
If you can’t make it to the Snow Bowl or to Camden, you can watch the action on local Cable Channel 7, or streaming live online here.
