Islesboro Police beat: Deer vs. car collisions, inadequate tires

    Islesboro Public Safety Director Fred Porter reports the following activity in March for the Islesboro Police Department. The department received or responded to 50 calls for service, including 23 business checks, five radar details, four parking problems, two car /deer crashes, and 15 other complaints.

    An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceedings.

    Kevin Durkee, 48, of Islesboro, was issued a summons for operating after suspension for a prior charge of operating under the influence, and failure to give notice of an accident by quickest means.

    Kevin Durkee, 48, of Islesboro, was issued a citation for an operator not properly secured, failure to maintain control of the motor vehicle, and inadequate tires.

    Six parking tickets were issued.
