ISLESBORO — Islesboro Central School will be accepting applications for grades 6-12 for the 2021-22 school year. According to the school, in a news release, ICS offers robust, individualized academic and co-curricular opportunities through its innovative Pathways program, as well as exceptional college and post-secondary planning and support.

ICS provides a nurturing and challenging environment by ensuring that all students have access to a rigorous program of academics along with a wide range of programs in the arts, athletics, and extracurricular activities.

Fall 2021 admission notes:

● Due to the vulnerability of our unique island community, we have made the difficult decision not to offer in-person tours during the school day this year. Alternatives include a virtual tour, or an in-person tour outside of school hours.

● The admissions committee may offer a zoom interview, after application review.

● Our small island school typically has a limited number of openings for magnet students in various classes; as for many schools, COVID has posed additional challenges as we do our best to plan for the coming school year. We would be glad to discuss anticipated openings in each class with applicants, with the understanding that circumstances may change due to the pandemic.
