Indigenous Stories launch Belfast summer reading

BELFAST — Join the Belfast Free Library for the first in a weekly series inspired by the Summer Reading Program's theme, "A Universe of Stories." The series kicks off, Thursday, July 11, at 3:30 p.m., with a program featuring Indigenous Stories. 

Why are stories important to people? How do stories make up all our lives? Join educator Starr Kelly from the Abbe Museum, and learn more about the importance of stories and storytelling.

Kelly will share stories from the Wabanaki, the Indigenous peoples of Maine, and other contemporary Native American stories from Indigenous authors.

Recommended for ages 6 and up.  

The Belfast Free Library offers Summer Reading Programs for kids and teens.

All library programs are free and open to the public.
