Midcoast Actors’ Studio will stage The Humans, by Stephen Karam.

Humor and hurt will be dished out in equal measure at Thanksgiving Dinner in this Tony Award winning one-act play. Erik Blake has taken his wife and his mother for Thanksgiving at the new home of his daughter and her boyfriend. His mother is suffering from dementia, and his other daughter Aimee has recently been the victim of a nasty breakup.

As darkness falls outside the crumbling pre-war duplex, mysterious things start to go bump in the night and family tensions reach a boiling point.

The Humans is directed by Erik Perkins. The cast includes Bart Shattuck, Jeralyn Shattuck, Katie Glessner, Danielle Bannister, Rob Bywater, and Christine West.

The show runs October 25-27 and November 1- 3 at the Crosby Center, 96 Church St, Belfast.

Following the October 27 matinee, MAS will host a Q&A discussion on the topic of “Dementia/Alzheimer’s Patients, Caregivers, and their Family” to be presented by Sara Grant, LMSW, MHRT/C, Aging and Disability Resources Manager with Spectrum Generations.
