Event has passed

BELFAST — “The Photography of Kosti Ruohomaa” is the topic for the Belfast Historical Society meeting, Monday October 28, at 7 p.m., in the Abbott Room at the Belfast Free Library.

Kevin Johnson, photo archivist at the Penobscot Marine Museum will present photographs from the recently acquired Kosti Ruohomaa collection.

Kosti photographed assignments all over North America and Europe for magazines such as Look, Life, National Geographic and Ladies Home Journal. His Maine photographs captured the spirit and culture of the island and coastal communities in the mid-20th century.

In conjunction with this talk, an exhibit of “Kosti Comes Home” photographs will be on display in the library’s Kramer Gallery.

This is the last of the Belfast Historical Society monthly programs for 2019.
