BELFAST — Habitat for Humanity of Waldo County will once again transform the Shrine Club in Belfast into an Italian bistro for an evening of fine dining, games, a wine auction, and drawings to win baskets of delights from area businesses. Café Italia will be taking place at the Waldo County Shrine Club (Northport Ave. in Belfast) on Saturday, April 27, thanks to the generosity of event sponsors Maine Chevy Dealers and Dutch Chevrolet, Jam Brook Builders, and Penobscot Bay Dentistry. All proceeds this year will support Habitat for Humanity of Waldo County building a ReStore in Waldo County.
The event begins at 5:00 p.m. with appetizers being passed to guests as they peruse baskets filled with treasures and gift certificates from a variety of generous local businesses. Prize basket contents are featured on Habitat’s Facebook page and are on display after April 19 at Camden National Bank (Main street) Belfast.
The Italian feast will continue at 6:00 p.m. with entrees featuring several types of pasta, delicious sauces (including the famous Alfredo from scratch), homemade meatballs, sautéed vegetables, chicken, sausage, salad, and desserts. Attendees are invited to bring their own wine or to participate in the wine auction.
Tickets are $25 each and may be purchased from any Habitat for Humanity of Waldo County board member, at Mailloux and Marden law offices in Belfast, or by calling or visiting the Habitat office.
Habitat for Humanity of Waldo County is dedicated to the belief that all people deserve decent, safe, and affordable housing on terms they can afford.
