George’s River Land Trust to host full moon showshoe
ST. GEORGE - Georges River Land Trust will host a guided snowshoe walk at Wheeler Bay Wildlife Sanctuary in St. George on Sunday, January 20 at 6 p.m. Bring your snowshoes and join Jocelyn Paquette for a one-mile guided adventure. Come out for the full moon, listen for owls, see tracks of other local wildlife in the snow, and possibly even catch the unmistakable sound of the quarry ice singing. This event is free and all are welcome to attend. Registration by phone is required.
After the walk, Jocelyn will warm you up with a hot beverage and sweet treat at her home on the edge of the quarry. She’ll tell you the amazing tales of how they are restoring the quarry to a bountiful wildlife sanctuary, and all the wildlife that now call the place home.
This event is limited to 25 guests and is suitable for children, so please call (207) 594-5166 to sign up by January 18. Registered guests will receive an email with directions to the site. Dress warmly, bring your own snowshoes and headlight or flashlight, and we’ll see you at the sanctuary.
