THOMASTON — Are you interested in American and local history? Do you have skills and talents you would like to share with one of Midcoast Maine’s historical treasures? Do you have a few hours to share? If so, please plan to join The General Henry Knox Museum on Thursday, May 13, at 10 a.m., to learn about volunteer opportunities.
Volunteers are the lifeblood of any nonprofit organization and the Knox Museum is no exception, according to the Knox Museum, in a news release.
“Volunteering provides an opportunity to share your expertise and passion, interact with visitors from around the world, and work with a wonderful team of staff and fellow volunteers, all while helping further the mission of a national treasure,” said the Museum.
The Knox Museum is seeking volunteers in a number of areas; whether your interest is in history, architecture, decorative and fine arts, gardening, retail sales, or simply assisting as needed, volunteers are relied upon in virtually every aspect of the museum’s operations.
Prospective volunteers will be joined by returning volunteers, who will have the opportunity to share their love of the Knox Museum while providing an overview of the various roles available. For more information, or to RSVP, please contact Executive Director, Ethan Yankura, at 207-354-0885 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you cannot attend, please feel free to contact the museum to discuss available opportunities and your interests.
