Garden workshop and open house at Lincolnville Library

Event has passed

LINCOLNVILLE — The Lincolnville Community Library will host a pollinator-friendly garden certification workshop and open house on Saturday, June 11, at 10 a.m.

Using the library’s gardens as an example, a volunteer with the University of Maine Cooperative Extension will show how to complete the application to certify a garden as pollinator friendly. They will explain all four steps of the process and discuss the importance of each one for supporting pollinators such as bees, beetles, butterflies, hummingbirds, and more. Certified gardens provide plenty of food, water, shelter and good habitat for pollinators.

This will also be an opportunity for people to tour the library’s gardens and learn more about the native and heirloom plants growing there. The library's team of garden volunteers will be on hand to answer questions.

No registration is required for the workshop.

The library is at 208 Main Street, in Lincolnville Center.
