A graveside service for Gail D. Ferris, who passed away on January 20, 2021, will be held Friday, May 7, 2021 at 2 p.m., at the Lakeview Cemetery, in Union. Masks and social distancing are required.

ROCKPORT — Gail Diann Ferris, 75, of Rockport, passed away unexpectedly at PenBay Medical Center on January 20, 2021.

Gail was born in Huntington Long Island, New York, on May 31, 1945 to parents George and Evelyn Michelson. She moved to Lincolnville, Maine and then to New Jersey. She graduated high school in New Jersey.

Gail lived and worked in many states including Maine, New Jersey, Florida, New York and Pennsylvania. While she was at RCA she met the Beatles. She was a RN of a psychiatric nursing facility, she ran 4 boarding homes, she worked at Van Balens and did mail services throughout her life.

She had many close friends and people she considered family. She enjoyed crafting, the computer, and camping . Her house was always the local hangout for all the neighborhood kids.

Gail is preceded in death by her parents, George and Evelyn Michelson.

She is survived by her brothers, Ken Michelson of Florida, Donald Michelson of New Jersey and Bruce Michelson of Lincolnville, Maine; her children Kimberly Raye of Sprucehead, Michael and Michelle Gardner of Waldoboro and Keith and Annabelle Gardner of Phillips; her grandchildren Alan Gardner, Elaina Richardson, Kevin Gardner, Crystal Kilgore and Dylan Richardson, Tatiana Carpenter, Ann-Dee Gardner; and greatgrandchildren Ashton, Azalea and Lucus.

There will be a graveside service in the spring.
