Fundraiser for victims of Castlebuilders business failure to be held Oct. 3

Event has passed

    UNION — On Oct. 3, from noon to 3 p.m., a benefit boiled dinner and silent auction will be held at the Masons Lodge in Union specifically for the victims of the Castle Builders business failure debacle of last year.

    Castle Builders, then based in Union, abruptly closed its doors in early September 2019. In the wake were property owners who had paid deposits for repairs, renovations or new houses, as well as 22 employees out of a job, and business creditors.

    Fundraising will help:

    Purchase needed materials;

    Make one roof safe (also needed: volunteers and a bit more materials for metal roofing  ( materials from Barn at the Second Congregational Church, Warren for structural integrity);

    Help complete one roof, which is almost finished except for shingles;

    Help make one bathroom handicap accessible and suitable for a disabled veteran.
