CAMDEN — The Friends of Music Concert Series, an outreach program of The First Congregational Church of Camden, welcomes the Brass Roots Trio to the church sanctuary for a concert on Sunday, Sept. 25, at 4 p.m.
“Equally at home with classical, jazz and gospel music, the Brass Roots Trio has been hailed as deliciously diversified with astounding virtuosity,” said the Church, in a news release. “Three world-class musicians redefine the chamber music genre with their adventurous programming of classical, jazz, Americana and Latin styles.
”Travis Heath (trumpet and flugelhorn), Douglas Lundeen (French horn and vocalist) and Rosetta Senkus Bacon (piano) infuse their music with exuberant energy, and their warmhearted presentation makes an immediate connection with the audience. A pioneer of this instrumentation – piano, trumpet and horn – Brass Roots Trio has played to standing ovations and rave reviews in every corner of the US and England since 2004.”
Their tours have included performances at Oxford University, St. James Piccadilly in London, the Chicago Brass Festival, and on Community Concert Series, Chamber Music Series and NPR. In 2009 the trio was honored to perform for President and Mrs. Obama and their guests at the White House.
As always, each Friends of Music concert is free and open to the public, although donations to sustain the program will be accepted at the door, or electronically via the church website. For more information, please contact The First Congregational Church of Camden at 207-236-4821.
