Free smoking cessation course for women offered in Rockland

ROCKLAND — Are you ready to save some money? Are you ready to quit smoking? On November 5, 12, 19, and 26, Pen Bay YMCA’s Knox County Community Health Coalition will be offering a free women’s-only class to prepare for a successful quit attempt.

These classes will take from 5 to 7 p.m., upstairs in the Rockland Flanagan Center, 61 Limerock St., Rockland. The first hour of each class will focus on creating personal successful Quit plans, and the second hour will be a fun hour learning new things like self-massage, healthy snacks or reflexology.

Snacks will be provided.

These classes are funded by a grant from Maine Cancer Foundation. Maine Cancer Foundation’s grant is offered as part of their ongoing Challenge Cancer 2020 initiative, aimed at reducing cancer incidence and mortality in Maine. They have awarded $9.5 million since 2015 in support of this initiative, focused on prevention, early detection and screening, and access to care for all Mainers.
