CAMDEN — Francis M. ‘Mickey’ Weaver, 86, died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Merry Gardens Estates.

Born in Thomaston, May 20, 1934, he was the son of Roy, Sr. and Leticia Lurvey Weaver. Growing up in Thomaston, Mickey spent many happy years playing with his brothers and sisters, making many happy memories.

Mickey served proudly in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea before being honorably discharged in 1954.

On October 7, 1953, Mickey married his best friend, Patricia A. ‘Teet’ Curtis, in Thomaston. Together they shared 64 wonderful years of marriage before Pat’s passing in 2017.

He was a hard worker his entire life, owning his own construction company for most of his career. Through it all, Mickey’s number one priority was his family.  He loved nothing more than to be surrounded by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a wonderful story teller, and often recounted happy memories from his childhood and the adventures of his life to his family. He was a jokester till the end and was always up for a good laugh. He will be sadly missed by all who loved him.

Predeceased by his parents; his in-laws, Edward and Frances Curtis; his brothers, Roy, Jr., Galen, Richard, and Roland; his sisters, Hazel Thomas and Ruthie Hilt; his son Roland E. Weaver in 1990; a grandson Adam Ober in 2001; Mr. Weaver is survived by his daughter Dee Ober of Rockport; his grandchildren Keirstin Weaver and her partner Ryan of Rockport, Aaron Weaver of Thomaston, Micheal Weaver and his wife Amanda Joseph of Waldo; Tina Murray and her husband Christopher of Rockport; his great-grandchildren, Taylor, Lexi, Logan, Grayson, Oriana, Brody, Silas, Malachi and Dresden; his sisters, Katherine, Betty, Linda and her partner Larry Taylor, Priscilla; his brother Clifton ‘Skippy’ and his wife Ragna; two sisters-in-law, Astrid Weaver and Eunice Weaver; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and very dear friends.

Mickey’s family would like to extend a special heart-felt ‘Thank You’ to all who visited and helped care for him until the very end, including the staff and residents at Merry Gardens Estate.

A graveside service with Military Honors will be held Monday, May 24, 2021, at 2 p.m., at Village Cemetery, Thomaston.
