Film about women’s rights to screen in Rockland
ROCKLAND — In honor of Women’s History Month, designated since 1980 to honor Women in American history, and also as a celebration of the women in America, the League of Women Voters Maine, ERA Maine and the Rockland Public Library invite the public to a screening of Equal Means Equal on Tuesday, March 12, at 5:30 p.m., in the Library's Community Room.
The 2016 film Equal Means Equal (directed by Kamala Lopez) is a 90-minute documentary on the status of women’s rights in America, which reveals the inadequacies in present laws protecting Women and demonstrates the need for a ratified Equal Rights Amendment, according to a news release.
This event is free and open to the public.
Rockland Public Library is located at 80 Union St. in Rockland.
