CAMDEN — Every day you read about a new fad diet – keto, intermittent fasting, gluten-free – each claiming to solve all our health problems. Instead of leading to solutions, these diets cause people to become more obsessed with food, crave everything they’re not allowed to have, and feel guilty.
On Tuesday, September 24, at 7 p.m., at the Camden Public Library, health and wellness coach Hester Kohl will discuss why diets don’t work and how to eat what you love while balancing eating for nourishment and enjoyment.
Hester Kohl is a National Board certified health and wellness coach and licensed Am I Hungry? Mindful Eating instructor. She specializes in helping people overcome mindless eating and other struggles with food and create a life of joy and wellness without dieting.
After working with the Journey to Health program at Pen Bay Medical Center and Waldo County General Hospital for several years, as well as the Maine Department of Transportation, she moved to Camden and started coaching independently at Hester Kohl Wellness in 2019.
