BELFAST — Join Coastal Mountains Land Trust as they celebrate its annual Trails Challenge. CMLT will be leading a family walk at The Head of Tide Preserve, Tuesday, August 24, from 10 – 11:30 a.m. Come explore ecology through games and nature art that is guided by your senses.
This adventure will be youth-focused, but everyone is welcome and encouraged to join the fun while children must be accompanied by an adult.
“Coastal Mountain’s Trails Challenge is in full swing!” said CMLT, in a news release.
Through the month of September, you can hike, run, bike or paddle on any trail in the area and support the construction of Coastal Mountain’s 50+ miles of public trails. While there is no cost to enter, every mile completed and logged will result in the donation of a dollar donated by incredible local businesses. To log your miles and a chance to win a weekly prize from a sponsoring business, go to www.coastalmountains.org/trails.
Directions: From downtown Belfast take Maine Street west and immediately turn right on Waldo Avenue. In 1.5 miles, turn right on Doak Road. The parking is on the right immediately after Doak’s Machine Shop.
Coastal Mountains Land Trust has worked since 1986 to permanently conserve land to benefit the natural and human communities of the western Penobscot Bay. The Land Trust has protected over 12,000 acres, offering 50 miles of trails for public recreation.
