    CAMDEN — July at the Camden Public Library heads outside for yoga in the Amphitheatre, a gong bath, and walking tours. The Library heads back to internet devices for virtual lectures, read-alouds, and group activities.

Historic Walking Tours. This free entertaining and educational walking tour features a handful of historic sites in downtown Camden, including the Camden Public Library grounds and Amphitheatre. The tour begins in the Children’s Garden of the Camden Public Library on Atlantic Avenue and ends at the Village Green. Moderate walking involved; suitable for all ages. Tours will be conducted entirely out-of-doors and will be weather dependent. Face masks will be required, and each tour will be limited to 6 people. Advance reservations are also required; please call the Library at 207-236-3440 to book your spot.

Resilience: One Family’s Story of Hope and Triumph Over Evil. The Camden Public Library welcomes Dr. Judy Stone, the daughter of Hungarian survivors of Auschwitz and Dachau, for a talk online about her new book Resilience — the story of her family’s strength and resilience during some of the most horrific events of the twentieth century. This presentation will occur via the Zoom platform. Poured Marbled Paintings: A Presentation by Artist Jon Byrer. The Camden Public Library will host its July Artist-of-the-Month, Jon Byrer, for an online presentation exploring his extraordinary, impressionistic painting style. Sound Immersion/Gong Bath in the Amphitheatre. Musical instrument creator and Sound Therapist Jim Doble will create waves of sound to help participants sonically cleanse, rejuvenate, rest, and recuperate in a safe environment. Sound bathers will be distanced at least 10-feet from one another, and the wearing of a face covering is mandatory (please bring your own). Doble also encourages participants to bring something to lie on (blanket or yoga mat).
