Erik Benner’s 100th career pin highlights Medomak Valley wrestling mid-week event

DIXFIELD — The Medomak Valley wrestling program traveled Wednesday, Jan. 22 to Dixfield to compete against a trio of teams at Dirigo High School. 

The trip was highlighted by Erik Benner earning his 100th career pin a week after earning his 150th career win. 

Benner is the second wrestler in program history to achieve either of those feats, according to Billy Bramhall, the head coach of the Panthers. 

Below are individual results of the Medomak Valley wrestlers. Team scores were not available. 

120 pounds: Gavin Readinger collected forfeits against Dirigo and Richmond while pinning Taylor Tillinghast (Madison). 

126 pounds: Emily Harris collected forfeits against Dirigo and Richmond.

126 pounds: Ian Doughty lost by pin to Tanner Mongeon (Madison). 

132 pounds: Ian Doughty lost by pin to Jake Ellis-Plante (Dirigo) and collected a forfeit against Richmond.

138 pounds: Franklin Dodge lost by pin to Owen Libby (Dirigo), collected a forfeit against Richmond and pinned Nick Carrera (Madison). 

145 pounds: Brady Carter pinned Gallagher Tucker (Dirigo) and collected forfeits against Richmond and Madison. 

152 pounds: Damien Henry pinned Curtis Errington (Dirigo) and collected forfeits against Richmond and Madison. 

160 pounds: Nolan Grubb collected forfeit against Dirigo and Madison while pinning Spencer Soule (Richmond). 

170 pounds: Colby Hyde pinned Robert Suprenant (Dirigo).  

170 pounds: Tyler Cox pinned Mohammad Assaf (Richmond) and pinned Tyler Avery (Madison). 

182 pounds: Tyler Cox pinned Chase Nelson (Dirigo). 

182 pounds: Colby Hyde pinned Makayla Bergeron (Richmond) and pinned Keghan Perkins (Madison). 

195 pounds: Erik Benner pinned Bode Gray (Dirigo) and pinned Jacob MacMaster (Richmond). 

220 pounds: Jakob Gess collected a forfeit against Dirigo, while pinning Brendan Roberge (Richmond) and pinning Logan Cloutier (Madison). 

285 pounds: Jakob Gess pinned Clarke LeBlanc (Madison).
