‘how can we be less bad for the Earth?’

Earth Day talk: Gardening for a Better Planet, Home Landscape as Habitat

The St. George Conservation Commission is offering “Gardening for a Better Planet: Home Landscape as Habitat” with Kelly Corbin, ecological landscape designer and consultant, on Thursday, April 22, from 6:30 – 8 p.m., via Zoom.

Many approaches to sustainability come from asking "how can we be less bad for the Earth?" In this presentation, Corbin will share her ”do more good” approach to sustainable landscaping. She will offer simple and effective methods to encourage pollinators, create bountiful habitat, and even reduce your carbon footprint.

Her approach can decrease the time and effort it takes to maintain gardens and lawns while increasing your appreciation of the diverse natural world around you, according to the Town of St. George, in a news release.
