Disney’s Frozen Jr. to be performed by Lincolnville Community School

LINCOLNVILLE — Lincolnville Central School will present their production of Disney’s Frozen Jr. on March 23 and 24, 2023. Auditions were held in December and rehearsals are ramping up.
“The cast is very excited to perform for the community, devoting extra hours every day to learn the many songs and dances,” said LCS, in a news release.
The cast of 35 students includes students in grades 5 - 8. Each cast member plays a variety of roles. Listed below are just some of the characters that are played by each student. In addition to these roles, students often change costumes between scenes and then show up on stage in a completely new role such as a Summer Chorus singer or one of the Hidden Folk.
The roles of Anna and Elsa develop over time – from very young to grown up. Playing the roles Young Anna and Young Elsa are Quinn Watts and Eva Hurley. Playing the roles of Middle Anna and Middle Elsa are Lily Fishman and Isabel Pickford. Playing the roles of the grown up Anna and Elsa are Anaëlle Dodge and Piper Brenton.
The story starts with the King (Owen Rogers) and Queen (Abby Howland) wondering about their daughters’ special powers and consulting with magical folk, Pabbie (Violet Prime) and Bulda (Aria Anderson), when things go awry. Unfortunately, the King and Queen venture to another country for more answers, never to return. The Bishop (Ophelia Larsen) oversees the coronation of Elsa as the Townspeople (Maggie Feeney, Devon Skrivanich, Vanessa Green, Anneka Egeland, and Alli Moody) look on, never suspecting the true depth of her magical powers. At the Coronation Ball, we are introduced to the Castle Staff (Lyllian Whitehill, Sydney Trull, Pearl Yetman, Oren Hurley, Anderson Janaitis, and Daniel Hafford), royal Prince Hans (Zev Whitcomb), the quirky Duke of Weselton (Malcolm Joseph), and the humble ice seller, Kristoff (Parker Feeney), with his trusty side-kick Sven (Oliver Brenton).
As trouble ensues and Elsa flees the castle, Anna ventures out to find her sister to make amends. She is joined on the journey by Kristoff and Sven and a humorous snowman character named Olaf (Isla Tobiasz). Together they encounter the Oaken family (led by Andy O’Brien), the Hidden Folk, and the Snow Chorus (Maya Graham, Kaylie Green, Maggie Harbaugh, Phoebe Hartley, Lilah Snow, Esme Tobiasz, and Christiana Webber).
The production is directed by Kim Murphy; with technical help by students Kyle Herrick and Addie Hinds. Special thank you Susan Iltis and to the many parents who are donating time to create costumes, build sets, and help with technical details.
The Lincolnville Central School production of Disney’s Frozen Jr. will play for two nights: Thursday, March 23 and Friday, March 24, at 6:30 p.m., each night.
Tickets are $5 each with a cap of $20 per family. Tickets are payable at the door - cash or check only. Reservations are recommended. Email frozentix@gmail.com for reservations.
