CAMDEN — Due to circumstances beyond the Camden Opera House's control, the March 14 Dirigo Rocks! concert is canceled. COH plans to reschedule this Maine Bicentennial Commission-endorsed mini music fest but doesn’t have a date yet. All tickets will be refunded, and the new date will be announced when determined.
The Camden Opera House has received Maine Bicentennial Commission endorsement for a Maine music mini-fest to be held during the state’s Bicentennial Weekend.
MaineMadeMusic presents: Dirigo Rocks! is set for Saturday, March 14, starting 7:30 p.m., and will feature performances by ThunderHeart Lion, The Rugged, and Shirt Tail Kin.
No-fee tickets, $14 advance; $16 day-of-show, are on sale at camdenoperahouse.com.
The opera house worked with Arootsakoostik Music Festival organizer Travis Cyr to create Dirigo Rocks! All three bands have Midcoast roots/personnel and have played the outdoor Arootsakoostik in New Sweden.
“This project is exactly the type of effort we are hoping to see as we commemorate Maine’s 200th anniversary statewide,” said Sen. Bill Diamond, chairman of the Maine Bicentennial Commission, in his letter granting Dirigo Rocks! official endorsement.
