ROCKLAND — On Tuesday, July 23, from 6-8 p.m., Rebekah Younger, MFA, will give a dharma talk entitled “Spark Creativity” at Rockland Shambhala, 14 School Street, Rockland.
The program is open to the public by donation. Tea and refreshments will be served.
Rebekah Younger’s new book, Be, Awake, Create: Mindful Practices to Spark Creativity, includes dozens of unique prompts, introspective exercises, and hands-on activities designed to inspire expression in any medium— from movement and collage to photography and poetry.
Younger will talk about the book’s origins and offer a taste of the book’s multidisciplinary exercises designed to bring mindfulness to any creative activity. Participants will learn to tap into the power of direct experience, without judgment, for a fresh perspective and spontaneity of expression. Books will be available for purchase.
Rebekah Younger is a multidisciplinary artist, entrepreneur, designer, and Shambhala Art instructor. She lives in Chicago, where she teaches photography, creating, and meditation.
Rockland Shambhala is a nonprofit Buddhist meditation group that meets at The Dancing Elephant in Rockland.
