OWLS HEAD — “You know you’re in the right place when everyone you work with runs out the back door of their business and tries to get the best sunset photo,” wrote Jeremy Shaw, manager of the Knox County Regional Airport, noting a collective appreciation of the Dec. 1 day’s end.

The photos began appearing on Facebook, posted by the individuals who shot their own perspective of the colorful sunset.

Shaw noticed them all, and collected them in one virtual spot.

“Here is a compilation of tonight’s sunset photos taken around the same time without knowing that we were all looking the same direction,” said Shaw.

“The sunsets at the airport are more spectacular than most locations because we are so open toward the west,” said Bill Packard, who works at Packard Partners, at the airport. “Tonight, without talking to each other, Cape Air, Penobscot Island Air, Packard Partners and Downeast Air all posted shots of the sunset.”
