Dec. 10 Busline League basketball results

The Busline League continued regular season play for middle school basketball on Monday, Dec. 10 across the Midcoast and several local schools were in action.

7th Grade Girls Basketball: Medomak 35, Troy Howard 18

Medomak held quarterly advantages of 15-0, 19-8 and 31-8.

Scoring for Medomak were Kaylee Kurr (four points), Eliza Luce (14), Sara Nelson (four), Olivia Pelkey (eight) and Haley Puchalski (five). 

Scoring for Troy Howard were Maddie Deans (four points), Sanica Gray (two), Audri Goodwin (six), Bree Shorey (two), Ava Maricham (two) and Kaelynn Beeton (two). 

“Great defense was played by Haley Puchalski, Sara Nelson and Olivia Pelkey,” said Medomak coach Andrea Williamson about her team’s defense. 

8th Grade Boys Basketball: Medomak 52, Troy Howard 46

Medomak held quarterly advantages of 16-15, 20-18 and 34-33. 

Scoring for Medomak were Kevin Sincyr (27 points), Hayden Staples (two), Blake Morrison (10), Will Cheeseman (four), Wyatt Simmons (two), Finn Parmalee (five) and Matthew Holbrook (two). 

Scoring for Belfast were J. Porter (three), P. McConnell (17), J. Ritter (three), L. McConnell (19) and C. Belicki (two). 

8th Grade Boys Basketball: Oceanside 60, Boothbay 38

Oceanside held quarterly advantages of 24-6, 36-18 and 49-28. 

Scoring for Oceanside were Alex Collins (14 points), Isaiah Meklin (11), Jason Leclerc (11), Hayden Jacques (eight), Rhys Jones (six), Logan Brazier (five), Alex Bartlett (three), Duncan Natale (one) and Ian Erskine (one). 

Scoring for Boothbay were Ames (15), Barclay (five), Kinstar (five), Amaral (two), Plummer (two), Harkins (two), Meader (five) and Harkins (two). 

7th Grade Boys Basketball: Medomak 48, Troy Howard 20

Medomak held quarterly advantages of 12-4, 28-16 and 41-18. 

Scoring for Medomak were Kory Donlin (15 points), Zan Nguyen (14), Aaron Reed (nine), Finian Kelly (six), Nelson Weeks (two) and Sam Moody (one) and Landon Trask (one). 

Scoring for Troy Howard were Eli Velleux (four), Gary Gale (four), Cole Castro (two), Sam Duvall (two), Ethan Abbott (two), Ben Osborne (two), Ben Allen (two) and Curtis Littlefield (two). 

8th Grade Girls Basketball: Oceanside 77, Boothbay 11

Oceanside held quarterly advantages of 21-2, 37-5 and 60-7. 

Scoring for Boothbay were E. Larrain (two points), A. Barter (four) and M. Gentry (five). 

Scoring for Oceanside were A. Mackie (21 points), A. Hersey (six), A. Waterman (15), A. Hatch (five), E. Sykes (nine), G. van Buskirk (nine), B. Stabulis (four), R. Wellman (two), S. Hansen (four) and M. Smith (two). 

8th Grade Girls Basketball: Medomak 27, Troy Howard 21

Scoring for Medomak were Quinn Overlock (four points), Emily Prock (six), Madi Simmons (10), Addison McCormick (three), Chelsea Sykes (two), Cindy Shelmerdine (one) and Trishelle Ames (one). 

Scoring for Troy Howard were Audra Faulkingham (one point), Maddy Goodwin (six), Natalie Hamlin (12) and Brynne Sawyer (two).  

“Overall we played some great defense,” said Medomak coach Celia Philbrick. “Rachel Readinger played some great defense and Cindy stepped up huge in that game on defense. I could not be more happy with they way things are going for us.”
