Cushing 'Small Works' to debut during Maine Craft Weekend

CUSHING — As part of Maine Craft Weekend, a showcase of small crafts and art and will be held at the Cushing Historical Society Barn on Saturday, October 5, from 10 to 4 p.m.
 
More than 10 artists will be displaying small paintings, sculpture, jewelry, textiles, miniatures books, paper goods, alpaca and wool pillows, and handmade work in a pre-holiday sale that supports local talent.
 
One of the organizers, Karin Strong said in a news release, "This will be the last show of the season and our very first 'Small Works' show.  These kinds of gifts are one of a kind, just like your loved ones. It is a lovely way to show someone they are thinking of you."
 
Free refreshments will be provided such as finger foods, hot water for hot chocolate, tea or coffee, and a crock pot of hot cider.
 
Visitors are encouraged to bring cash or checks. The address is: 17 Hathorne Point Road, Cushing, and follow the signs to Olson House.
 
The Cushing Historical Society is celebrating their 50th year, and have been a source of research, culture and art to the local community. Their Barn is a venue for art shows, concerts and other cultural events.
