CUSHING — In order to proactively limit the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), the Cushing Public Library’s Board of Trustees has voted to close the Library for an indefinite period of time, until further notice. This includes all events, programs, and meetings which take place at the Library.

Dr. Candace Kane’s presentation on March 22, “Which Women? What Work? A Brief History,” will be rescheduled, as will other announced activities.

“The Board believes this action is the best way to support the health of all Cushing residents during this difficult situation and was made after consultation with other library executives at all levels,” said the Library, in a news release. “The Library will continue to monitor the situation and follow best health practice recommendations from Maine state government and the Center for Disease Control.”

The Library’s website, cushing.lib.me.us, will maintain updates.
