Cushing Community School to hold ‘Little Sprouts’ plant, seedling, bake sale

Event has passed

CUSHING — ‘Tis the season for growing, and the Family & Friends Group has been helping the students at Cushing Community School learn about just that. They will be hosting a plant and seedling fundraising sale on Saturday, June 4, from 9 am to Noon, rain or shine, at the Langlais Sculpture Preserve, in Cushing.

Proceeds from the sale will benefit the students, who, since April, have been hard at work planting seeds and caring for their seedlings.

“Our thanks to community members for plant and food donations, Cushing residents Bruce Meklin and Mike Roberts; Walmart, and E.L. Spear Lumber and Hardware,” said a Group news release.

Beyond seedlings, there will be perennials for sale donated by gardeners from the area, and all are encouraged to bring plant and seedling donations to the Sculpture Preserve on Friday, June 3, between the hours of 3 to 6 p.m.; no need to sign up, all are welcome on that day.

There will also be a bake sale on Saturday, and donated baked goods can be delivered during Friday hours or between 9 and 10 a.m., on Saturday morning.

Friday, June 3, from 3-6 p.m., please deliver your donations of seedlings, plants, and baked treats, and on Saturday grab your cash and head back to 576 River Road between 9 and noon to support the Cushing Community School students and their Little Sprouts Plant and Seedling sale, “and take a few extra minutes to enjoy the marvelous Langlais Sculpture Preserve,” said the release.
