BELFAST – The second performance of the 52nd Bar Harbor Music Festival collaboration in Belfast features renowned American concert pianist Christopher Johnson. Johnson will perform at the Belfast Free Library 7:30 p.m., Friday, July 20.
Johnson has appeared extensively in recital, on radio and TV, as soloist with orchestras, and in chamber ensembles throughout the United States, Canada, Central and South America, and Europe. His charming repartee with each audience makes his music accessible and enjoyable, according to a news release.
The Belfast Creative Coalition is collaborating with the 52nd Bar Harbor Music Festival to bring three classical music performances, for the second year, to the Belfast area in July with classically-trained, world-renowned musicians.
"We are so proud to help bring these amazing artists from what is often referred to as Maine's Premier Music Festival," said the new director of the Belfast Creative Coalition, Larraine Brown, in a news release. "There are many classical music lovers in this area that we want to engage and support."
At 4 p.m., Sunday, July 22, The Ardelia Trio returns with their dynamic presence to the Gammans Room at the Belfast Free Library. Forged with a common commitment to presenting innovative and engaging interactive concerts, Janey Choi violinist, Clara Yang cellist, and Jihea Hong-Park pianist, formed the group after working together in various capacities as performing and teaching artists bringing their thoughtful, yet boldly energetic, interpretations of repertoire ranging from Baroque, through the standard Classical and Romantic genres, to today's living composers.
Seating is limited for each of these stellar performances. Tickets can be purchased at Left Bank Books and at the door. Adults: $20 per concert or $50 for all three. Youth under 10 are free. Ages 11-18 is $10 per concert or $25 for all three.
