Cold Comfort Theater performs ‘A Voice of My Own’

BELFAST — The University of Maine Hutchinson Center will host Elinor Jones’ A Voice of My Own, presented by Belfast’s Cold Comfort Theater, on Nov. 9, Nov. 10, Nov. 16 and Nov. 17 at 7 p.m.

A Voice of My Own is the story of women writers spanning time from Sappho to the present. The play presents the writers’ triumphs, as well as the ridicule they endured as females. The performance will be accompanied by vocals, guitar, flute, autoharp, keyboard and fiddle.

Cold Comfort Theater, founded in 1971, presents plays written by developing artists. The theater’s artistic director is Aynne Ames.

The cost of the show is $15. Tickets may be purchased in advance at Left Bank Books, 109 Church St., Belfast, or at the door on the nights of the performances.
