CAMDEN — Coastal Quilters is resuming normal operations for the 2022-2023 year with their second Saturday meetings located at the Camden Lions Club building on Lions Lane.

On Saturday, Oct. 8, the quilters will present Marylou Tingle with a demonstration of Applique. Dingle lives in Danvers, Massachusetts but is a frequent visitor at Coastal Quilters, a member of Clamshell Quilters and Maine Modern Quilters.

Tingle has been quilting for 45 years but has only done applique for a year.

"I always hated doing applique," said Tingle, in a Coastal Quilters news release, "until I took a class on a different method. Now I love it!"

Tingle will demonstrate a different method than traditional applique.

New quilters in the area and other guests are welcome to join. Meetings start at 10 a.m., but guests are welcome to come anytime after 9:30 a.m. for socialization. Coffee and light snacks are available.

“Show and Tell is always an exciting part of our meetings so bring a sample of your craft to share (and it does not have to be quilting!)” said Coastal Quilters, in a news release. “Please join us.”
