ROCKLAND — After more than two years of planning and construction, a new Coastal Opportunities group home is ready to welcome its residents at 190 Limerock Street in Rockland (behind the Rockland Congregational Church).
An open house for the community will be held Saturday, Dec. 7, from 1 to 3 p.m. The dedication and ribbon-cutting will occur at 2 p.m., and refreshments will be served.
Designed by Christopher Glass of Camden and built by McCormick & Associates, the building is a state-of-the-art replacement for the Katherine Brown Home in Hope, according to Coastal Opportunities, in a news release.
This new intermediate-care facility provides an intensive degree of assisted living for up to eight residents who use wheelchairs. With geothermal heating and private rooms, the home will allow these residents to achieve as much self-determination and independence as possible and to become involved in their new community.
