Coastal Mountains Land Trust announces Trails Challenge results

Coastal Mountains Land Trust’s fourth annual Trails Challenge concluded with excitement on September 10, 2022. Hundreds of hikers, runners, bikers, paddlers, and swimmers came out to participate logging all of their active miles on area preserves to raise money for trail stewardship and development.

10,820 miles were logged and matched by local businesses, collectively raising $10,820 for the Land Trust.

Top 3 Kids (Under 15) Overall: Sam Tooley (145 miles); Ethan Cohen (107 miles); Keagan Urey and Matilda Schroeder (50 miles)

Top Adult by Activity: Hiking: Virginia Knutson (236 miles); Running: Ramona Larsen (186 miles); Biking: Michael Samway (162 miles); Paddling: Ethan Merrifield (57 miles); Swimming: Kathleen Bradshaw (9.5 miles)

Top Kids (Under 15) by Activity: Hiking: Ensley SholesIsla Sholes, and Lolajeanne Black (11 miles); Running: Sam Tooley (120 miles); Biking: Keagan Urey (50 miles); Paddling: Ava Croce and Kara Croce (2 miles); Swimming: SMJ (1 mile)

Coastal Mountains Land Trust has worked since 1986 to permanently conserve land to benefit the natural and human communities of the western Penobscot Bay. The Land Trust has protected over 12,000 acres, offering 50 miles of trails for public recreation.
