ROCKPORT — The Camden Hills Regional High School Treble Choir and Chamber Singers will host their annual Dessert Cabaret on Monday, Feb. 10, at 7 p.m., in the Wave Café, at CHRHS. (A snowdate has been set for Feb. 12).
“Directed by Kimberly Murphy and accompanied by Matt Mainster, the annual Dessert Cabaret is a joyous celebration of popular songs and culinary delights, sure to lift your spirits during the dreary dark winter months,” said Cabaret, in a news release.
Members of the Chamber Singers and Treble Choir will perform a variety of contemporary arrangements including ensemble performances of Light from the Broadway musical Next to Normal and upbeat arrangements of popular selections from the musical Mama Mia. Rounding out the show will be a variety of contemporary solos and duets from members of each choir.
The CHRHS Chamber Singers and Treble Choir are select vocal ensembles whose members participate in a variety of musical events throughout the year. All of the singers have been accepted as performers to the 2020 MMEA District III Festival and many will be attending the upcoming All State Festival in May.
Singers include: Thia Allen, Tristan Black, Alyssa Bland, Tanner Castellano, Julianna Day, Noelle Delano, Isaiah Doble, Thomas Eagar, Caleb Edwards, Sophie Ernst, Ruben Feldman, Tatum Freeman, Eleanor Greer, Maddie Johnson, Sofie Johansen, Josh Kohlstrom, Elaine Landry, Audrey Leavitt, Alana Mahoney, Lucas Marriner-Ward, Annabel Parker, Chris Shields, Aly Shook, Nate Stanley, Brook St. Laurent, Kate Upham, Max Valley, Sophia Vigue, Robyn Walker-Spencer, Bradlee Watts, and Caleb Wight.
The evening features desserts made by parents and area restaurants.
Audience members can sample as many desserts as they would like. Extra special desserts will be auctioned off at the end of the evening.
The evening will close with a chance for an audience member to be serenaded by the male a cappella ensemble: The Off Beats or the female ensemble: Fortissima.
Tickets are $10 each and include dessert, coffee and tea, plus entertainment. Tickets are available at the door and seating is general admission.
