CAMDEN — Professional chef Frank Giglio will lead a presentation on how to harvest, process, and eat acorns, Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 12 p.m., at Merryspring Nature Center.

In this talk, Frank Giglio will talk about how to gather food from just about anywhere by eating acorns. The talk will cover how to identify oak trees, how to harvest and dry acorns, and different methods for properly processing acorns. Finally, he will share some cooking tips and acorn recipes with the audience.
Frank Giglio is a chef with a passion for utilizing ingredients grown locally. As a father, he actively encourages his children to be a part of the natural world, teaching them about traditional foods and ways of incorporating them into daily meals. Giglio currently serves as the kitchen manager at the Lincolnville Center General Store.
This lecture is part of the Winter Talk series at Merryspring, sponsored by Allen Insurance and Financial.
Admission to Tuesday talks is $5, with free admission for members of Merryspring.
