MAINE — The University of Maine at Augusta will celebrate 30 years of distance education in a statewide event on July 17, from 4 to 6 p.m. 

Included in the event will be those who helped develop Maine’s largest distance education network, friends, students, faculty, and alumni. 

Learn about this revolutionary educational development in 1989, its evolution as technologies improved, and its strong future in fulfilling UMA’s mission of making education accessible to all, according to UMA, in a news release.

Celebrate at participating UMA locations in Augusta, Bangor, Brunswick, East Millinocket, Ellsworth, Houlton, Lewiston, Rockland, Rumford, South Paris, and Saco.
